Hello My name is Mrs. Tanner and I am looking forward to a successful and productive year. If we all work together we all will achieve our goals.
My email is [email protected] and the school phone is 416-1435.(new number)
Grading ProceduresGrades are calculated using total points.
·Tests (100 pts. each, approximately 3 per grading period) (300 pts)
·Quizzes (30 pts each, about5 or 6 per grading period) (150 pts)
·Assignments (homework and classwork) (5 points each, around 10 to 15 per grading period) (100 pts)
·Nine weeks project(s) (100 pts) Topics will include : Math in the real world and review for important assessments
Parents :Ask to see all your child’s work and ask for interim reports regularly. Check grades on the parent portal. Test and quizzes comprise the majority of the grade as per SCS policy but low test grades can be retaken before or after school after proof of additional studying by working extra problems and/or attending before or after school tutoring.
Materials Students will need pencils, loose leaf paper, graph paper and a folder with brads or 3 ring binder. High lighters and index cards are also useful.
Honesty: Students are expected to do their own work.Cheating on tests or copying homework will result in zeros until the work is redone and parents will be notified on second occurrence.
Make-up Work: If a student has an absence it is their responsibility to turn in any missed work and make up any test or quiz. Zeros may be entered in the grade book until work has been made up. I stay after school almost every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for tutoring and makeup work. Students can also retake tests to try to improve their grade after showing proof of studying.
